Brigadeiro is undoubtedly one of Brazil's most beloved sweets, present at practically every birthday party and celebration. But do you know how this delicious treat originated?

The brigadier's story is linked to the Brazilian politician Brigadeiro Eduardo Gomes, who ran for president of the Republic in the 1940s. To support her campaign, her admirers created a simple and tasty sweet made with condensed milk, chocolate powder, butter and sprinkles, and started selling it to raise funds. The name "brigadeiro" came precisely because of this popular support.Since then, the brigadeiro has won the hearts of Brazilians and has become a symbol of celebration and joy. And no wonder: chocolate has a special place in the national preference. Brazil is one of the largest consumers of chocolate in the world, and brigadeiro combines perfectly with this love, as it is sweet, creamy and very practical.

New versions

Over the years, the traditional brigadeiro has undergone several reinterpretations. That basic recipe gave way to gourmet versions, with sophisticated ingredients such as Belgian chocolate, coconut milk, rum, and even surprising fillings such as Nutella or fruit. In addition, different types of brigadeiro have emerged: white, pistachio, paçoca... The new versions bring creativity and innovation, but the classic still retains its charm and continues to conquer generations.
