The brigadier's story is linked to the Brazilian politician Brigadeiro Eduardo Gomes, who ran for president of the Republic in the 1940s. To support her campaign, her admirers created a simple and tasty sweet made with condensed milk, chocolate powder, butter and sprinkles, and started selling it to raise funds. The name "brigadeiro" came precisely because of this popular support.Since then, the brigadeiro has won the hearts of Brazilians and has become a symbol of celebration and joy.
